A characteristic of money is that there is never enough of it to meet all needs. This is the major problem underlying the study of finance. Finance is the study of money management, the acquisition of funds (cash) and the directing of these funds to meet particular objectives.


Financial Planning
CMU's Personal Financial Planning program fulfills all education requirements for CFP certification and examination. CMU is the only university in Michigan that prepares students for this exam. According to a recent NEFE survey, Certified Financial Planners make $80,000 per year on average.
